I don't think the details are different per version. I've only ever had vmware (4, 5.5 and now 6.0) on this physical hardware, so I have yet to see your scenario-- moving to new hardware. Don't know if I'd have change my license. Never have had to do anything more than push buttons to get a new key between each major version.

Found that through the My VMWare support portal, they could combine the two license keys and through their system produce a single license key for a dual socket processors. I logged an official support case with them explaining that Dell sent two license keys. They made an log entry note in my account that they combined the two keys. they send me the new key which I applied and it worked successfully. Now on to the next hurdle! Thanks for the help!
